Custom Handmade Cooking Spatula

$195.00

Patterned after my great-grandmother's spatula, the proportions are just right for general use. The handle has a wonderful feel and the high carbon spring steel blade provides superb feedback. Our classic handle is North American black walnut carved into an octagonal taper with a brass end plate. I also offer alternative wood types like mahogany, cherry, maple, and beech. Any of these five wood types can also be chosen for your turned Endeavor Works handle, a round style. The turned handle is made on a lathe and is very shapely and traditional. The round handles feature a wide cooper end cap and matching copper rivets. Since these are highly customized please allow a few weeks for the maker to create your spatula.

Blade. This 1095 high carbon spring steel blade is strong, light, abrasion

resistant, and is above all lively.

Tang. The grain structure of the hand-forged steel follows the form of the tang,

lending it remarkable strength. The tang is mild carbon steel,

which is just the right weight and gives the tool a nice feeling of stability

Handle. The tapered octagonal handle is inspired by the form and proportions

favored by the great toolmakers of early nineteenth century Sheffield, England.

The faceted design allows for easy and natural angle control. The handle does

not tend to rotate or slip in the hand. Made with North American black walnut,

it is light, stable, and strong.
